How to find the right tire size for your car ?

Where is the tire size ?

The easiest place to look for a size is through the tire in your car .

But there are other places to find out the right size for you or if you want to switch the size to another, and you can find the right sizes for your cars through places other than the passenger tire in the car, such as :

  • Table drawer
  • Vehicle manual
  • Inside the fuel tank cap
  • The plate affixed to the driver's door panel

After knowing the tire size of your car, how do you read the tire ?

The tire measurement is printed on the side of the tire in the place known as the sidewall, when you search for the measurement, you will see that it consists of a series of numbers and letters such as 205/55R16 V, and we can explain how to read it as follows :

205: the 3 digits indicate the width of the tire in millimeters and is measured from the farthest point on the inner side surface of the tire .

55: indicates the height of the sidewall of the tire relative to the width, indicates that the height of the sidewall of the tire is 55% of its width and the higher the ratio, the larger the size of the sidewall of the tire .

R: denotes how the frame is created and means that the frame is Radial .

16: indicates the diameter of the inner edge of the tire in inches ( rim diameter ) .

91: indicates the amount of the tire's load rating, the maximum amount of weight that this tire can carry when the air pressure in the tire reaches the maximum while the tires are running at a certain speed for a specified period of time .

V: it is the amount of the average speed and indicates the maximum speed of the tire if the maximum load amount is reached .

In addition to the tire size, there are some other signs that you may find on the tire, such as :

  1. Tire brand name
  2. Model name
  3. Tread wear index
  4. Friction levels
  5. Temperature range
  6. Tire air pressure
  7. Production history
  8. Country Of Origin
